Panovski Has Trouble Remembering Dates and Events

The Crown wrapped its cross-examination of Boris Panovski at his trial in Goderich Thursday afternoon.

Panovski is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Don Frigo, and attempted murder in the wounding of Frigo's wife Eva at the Hullett Wildlife Area in September of 2014.

During Thursday's cross-examination, Panovski admitted that in the time since the shooting he suffered a head injury and has a bad memory. And a video of his interview with police on September 22, 2014, illustrated some inconsistencies in his testimony.

He stated during the trial several times that he and Frigo were good friends, but told police on the video there was "nothing good and nothing bad between them".

During his cross-examination, the Crown asked why at this point in the trail he had described spending the day of the shooting driving around Huron County looking for places to hunt geese.

Panovski replied that before this week, no one had asked him what he had done that day. But the video showed a police officer asking him that question on September 22, eight days after the shooting and his reply at that time was he didn't remember.

The Defence will begin the re-examination of Panovski Friday morning.
