New Family Doctor Will Set Up Practice In Kincardine

The Doctor Recruitment Committee has secured a new Family Physician for Kincardine.

Town Council has approved an agreement with Dr. Catherine Ciszkowski to take up her medical practice in the Municipality of Kincardine, starting next January.

Ciszkowski looks forward to moving to the Kincardine area with her husband. They both enjoy spending time enjoying the wealth of natural resources that the area has to offer.

Ciszkowski completed her medical degree at McMaster University in Hamilton in 2013 and finished her family medicine residency training via Western University's regional training program in 2015.

She has helped author several publications, including a communication published in the medical journal, New England Journal of Medicine. Prior to initiating her medical studies, she completed her Master's Degree at Western University, where her research interests focused on the ability of a person's genetics to affect drug safety, primarily in breastfeeding mothers.

The Kincardine Physicians Group shares, "We are very pleased that Dr. Ciszkowski will be opening a practice in May 2019. The community is growing rapidly and it is wonderful to have an extra doctor join our team. At this time, there are no plans for Dr. Ciszkowski to take over Dr. Blecher’s practice as we hope to recruit another doctor prior to May 2019. Meantime, the current Kincardine physicians will be sharing coverage of Dr. Blecher's practice."
