Grey County Family In Mourning

As many as 70 people in Dundalk area community had been helping with the search for Doug Ardis,24, over the last several days, but on Friday, family and friends learned what they never wanted to hear.

The family posted on a group Facebook page that Doug had passed away. The family is thanking everyone for the contributions during the search.

Mke Fisher coached Ardis when he played for the Mount Forest Patriots.

"Dougie was the spirit of the room. He loved being at the rink he loved being a member of the boys. He was a true leader. He was assistant captain for us for a year and he was just one of those guys that did everything over and above that he had to," said Fisher.

Fisher says it's obviously a sad day for the entire community.

"It's emotional for a lot of people, the family. I know people that weren't his family but we call ourselves a family and that's the Patriots. I sent a message out as soon as I heard, any of the players that need any kind of help we're here for you. We have to be here, we're not just coaches we're friends too. It's a sad day," said Fisher.

The family says a service will be held at a later date.
