UPDATE: Extensive Damage Due To High Winds Still Causing Power Issues

Thousands of Hydro One customers are still without power and have been since the Friday wind storm.

High winds tore through the region Friday taking down power lines. Lines were also damaged because of falling branches.

Hydro One reports at one point that 219,000 customers were without power in the province. All available crews have been out through the night Friday.

Across Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and Wellington there are pockets of thousands of customers still without power, and Hydro One crews continue to work to fix the issues.

At this time, approximately 13,000 Hydro One customers in the Southern region remain without power at this time. Hydro One currently has 432 staff working in the region, with crews being mobilized across the province to assist the most affected areas. There are approximately 267 poles that have been damaged and need to be replaced throughout the region.
