Body Found Near Area Where 3-Year Old Went Missing

The mother of a 3-year old boy who was swept into the Grand River near Orangeville in February says the search for her son is over.

In a Facebook post, Michelle Hanson thanked everyone for their search efforts and funeral arrangements will be finalized this week.

Police say a fisherman found a young boy's body in the river on Saturday, but they haven't confirmed his identity.

A body has been found near the village of Belwood, 10 kilometres from where a 3-year old went missing back on February 21.

Police say the body was found at the main bridge over the Grand River on Wellington County Rd. 26.

The coroner has been called in to identify the body.

Kaden Young was swept into the Grand River on February 21 and large search parties made up of people from all over southern Ontario, along with police and emergency services, have been looking since then.

Multiple Facebook groups were formed to keep those volunteering informed about searches everyday. The page 'Bring Kaden Young Home To His Family' alone with 18,000-plus members.

Again, authorities have not confirmed the identity of the body that was found Saturday.
