Funding Increase For South Bruce Grey Hospitals

South Bruce Grey Health Centre has received a 2% increase in base funding for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

The 2% increase represents $636,000 in new funding.

President and CEO Paul Rosebush says despite the significant funding increase, the organization will remain challenged to keep pace with inflation in the hospital sector.

He says with collective agreement increases, along with rising costs for fuel, electricity, and hospital supplies, the funding is vital to maintain service levels.

Rosebush says the organization finished the 2017-2018 fiscal year with a balanced budget position.

The organization operates hospitals in Kincardine, Walkerton, Chesley, and Durham.

He adds the 2018-2019 Hospital Accountability Planning Submission (HAPS) budget and Hospital Service Accountability Agreement (H-SAA) have been completed and submitted to the South West LHIN with no service or program changes.
