Education Sessions For Potential Trustees

Two information nights have been set up to help people who are interested in becoming a trustee with their local school board.

Avon Maitland District School Board Chair Randy Wagler says the information will help potential candidates prepare and learn more about what trustees do.

Trustees will be elected during municipal elections this fall.

"This night is really to help folks who are interested in potentially running as trustees," says Wager.

And there will be a discussion about what commitment is needed.

“It's something that varies a lot, of course, depending on what's happening with the board," says Wagler. "On average it's probably an hour or more a day when you look at it over the long haul, and of course it can be more when you've got meetings and you're dealing with concerns from some of the constituents.”

The information nights are April 17 at Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton and April 18 at Stratford Northwestern. Both sessions start at 7pm and are held in the school libraries.
