Heavy Snow A Challenge For Plows In Parts Of Midwestern Ontario

All roads are now open in Midwestern Ontario, but snow is continuing to challenge plow operators.

The sheer amount of snowfall has overwhelmed several local public works departments. Saugeen Shores says public works have been out since 3am clearing and re-clearing roads.

The increased temperature is loosening the snow, creating poor conditions.

18 Road Crew members are working to clear 460 km of roads, along with sidewalks and municipal parking lots.

Huron Kinloss is asking residents to be patient as roads staff work tirelessly to clear the roads. Plow operators have been out all day, but the deep snow has slowed progress.

The region has seen significant snowfall through December and into January.

Residents are asked not to call the office with road conditions as staff is aware and crews are working to clear all areas.
