West Grey Police Issue Community Alert

The West Grey Police Service has issued a community alert about a man released on recognizance to reside in the Town of Durham.

Stirling Young, 44, was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and luring a child by York Regional Police.

He was released on a recognizance and his conditions include:

  • Not to be in the company of or communicate with directly males or females under 18 years except while in the direct company of his surety or while buying food or goods in a public place or unless they are family members
  • Not to attend a public park or public swimming area where persons under the age of 16 years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present or a daycare centre, school ground, playground or community centre
  • Not to seek obtain or continue with any paid or unpaid activity that involves being in a position of trust or authority towards persons under the age of 16 years
  • Not attend any hotel, motel or Inn expect in the direct company of his surety and reside with his surety in Durham each and every night.
Police are reminding residents that the case has yet to go to court.
