Ontario Provincial Police are looking into an attempted abduction in Perth County.
Police say it happened in St. Marys shortly after 7:30pm Saturday. A nine-year-old boy was walking in the area of Station St and Church St when a vehicle approached him.
The male driver asked the boy if he wanted a ride. He then suddenly got out of the vehicle and tried to grab the boy, who was able to get away and run for home, where his parents called police.
The driver is described as an older white male with an average build and a deep voice. The vehicle was described as an SUV.
OPP are urging residents to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or the Perth County detachment at (519) 393-6123. Anonymous tips can be phoned to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
