The driver of a car is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision with a school bus.

The incident happened just after 3:30pm Monday on London Rd north of Exeter. Police say it was a head-on crash involving a four-door sedan and the school bus.

The driver of the sedan had to be extricated by the South Huron Fire Department. He was then flown by Ornge air ambulance to a London hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

There were 12 students on the school bus with their driver at the time. Police say none of them were injured.
