Deadly Carfentanil Found In Hanover

Hanover Police are warning that Carfentanil was found during a drug seizure in the town.

Police sent a sample from a drug raid for testing, and it has now come back as positive for the deadly drug.

Police say Carfentanil is 100 times stronger than fentanyl, and about 10,000 times stronger than morphine.

A single dose of .02 mg can be fatal to humans. That's the size of a grain of salt.

This may be the first time the drug has been found in the Grey Bruce region.

Police warn taking any illegal substance from an unknown origin can be potentially lethal.

The drug was seized during a police raid on a property in the 300 block of 8th St in Hanover on September 18th.

They found $3000 worth of meth, marijuana, marijuana oil, heroin, prohibited knives, ammunition, and cash.

Anyone with information on the trafficking of illegal substances is encouraged to contact the police service of jurisdiction or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS)
