Planned Power Outage Monday Afternoon At Kincardine Hospital

The Kincardine hospital has made extensive plans for a scheduled power outage Monday afternoon.

As part of the infrastructure renewal, there will be a one-hour power outage in order to connect the facility’s new generator system.

Beginning at 1pm, the power to the building will be completely shut down, with essential equipment running on generators.

Patients are asked not to come to the hospital during this time, unless it's a critical emergency.

And as Remembrance Day is being observed at South Bruce Grey Health Centre Monday, Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Services will be closed to outpatients, which will lessen the impact.

The replacement of the facility’s boiler system, chiller and generators is expected to be complete in December.

President and CEO Paul Rosebush stated in a news release.

"We are nearing the end of this project, with just a few more hurdles to clear," says Rosebush. "We greatly appreciate the patience of our community, and our staff, as we have worked to update the aging infrastructure in this building to ensure that we will be able to continue to deliver high quality health care in Kincardine for years to come."
