Hanover Age Friendly Community Discussions Get Underway

Hanover residents and community leaders will gather this week to talk about the town's Age Friendly Community strategy.

The aim is to create a community where policies, services and structures are designed to support and enable seniors to stay healthy and participate fully in a secure environment.

A seven-part discussion series kicks off this week to talk about important services in Hanover. It starts at noon Thursday at the P&H Centre.

Each topic in the series will relate to older adult issues including wellness, hearing, estate planning and more.

The town has been approved for funding from the provincial Senior's Community Grant Program.

The program will encompass issues like community support and health services, outdoor spaces an building, transportation, housing social participation, respect, inclusion, communication, information, civic participation and employment.
