Attack Owner Frank Coulter Dies

The owner of the Owen Sound Attack has passed away.

The Ontario Hockey League confirms the passing of Frank Coulter. The league says Coulter died suddenly Thursday night at age 74.

Coulter is being remembered not only for his ownership of the hockey club, but also for his philanthropic efforts, many of which done through the Attack.

"He brought a larger than life laugh and extremely jovial nature everywhere he went and donated countless hours of his time to bettering the lives of those around him," says the league in a statement.

The team will wear Coulter's "FC" initials on their helmets for the rest of the season in tribute to the owner.

Coulter is survived by his wife Sharon and two sons, Ted and Jeff. He was predeceased in 2008 by son Chris. He is also survived by three grandchildren, siblings, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Monday from 3pm to 8pm at Wood Funeral Home at 250 14th St W in Owen Sound. A public memorial service will be held at 11am Tuesday at the home of the Attack, the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Internment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Owen Sound.
