New Fundraising Chair For Huron Hospice

Daryl Ball has been named the new capital campaign lead and fundraising chair for Huron Residential Hospice.

Gwen Devereaux has been the chair for the last eight months. Ball says they have a lot of events planned for the next few months, including a gala of some sort in the spring.

“You sit down around your kitchen table and you bring in six or seven of your friends and you talk about the Huron Residential Hospice and the fund-raising needs we have and then you go out and you bring in six more or seven more of your friends and then you talk about the same thing," she says.

Ball says the fund-raising committee can supply materials for the coffee tree and they hope to host several more of them.

Ball adds they're also conducting tours through the home on Hwy. 8, across from the Woodlands Golf Course.

He suggests anyone interested in a tour call 482-3440 ext. 6301 to book a time or he says there's usually someone at the home on weekdays between one and four. Ball says they'll be able to host tours until work on the renovation starts.

“We can at this point have tours through the home and anybody that wants a tour can call us or just drop in between 1pm and 4pm and most days there's somebody there," he says. "We will be able to continue that until we start some of the construction.”
