UPDATE: ER At Kincardine Hospital Open

Update as of 1:10pm:

The Emergency Department at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Kincardine site has been cleared to reopen following the investigation of an odour leak that occurred this morning.

However, all outpatient appointments have been cancelled for the day, including Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging, and will resume Thursday morning.

The inpatient unit in the hospital was not affected.

Members of the public are encouraged to refrain from visiting the hospital for the remainder of the day, unless necessary, as work continues on venting some areas of the building.

The source of the odour was a buildup of chemicals in the water that supplies the steam boilers, which has been fixed.
