Victims Identified In Fatal Plane Crash Near Goderich

Huron County OPP has identified two people killed in a plane crash in Lake Huron near Goderich.

The plane and a second occupant were found early Thursday morning about 1.5 km from the shore just west of the Municipal Sky Harbour Airport

Witnesses had reported seeing a plane that appeared to be flying in distress near the airport Wednesday evening.

A search was launched, and the crash debris was found, along with a female victim who was pronounced dead in hospital.

The deceased has since been identified as 36-year-old Veronica Draghici from Brampton.

The second victim was found inside the heavily damaged Cessna 150 J at about 11:52am Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old Edward Grodecki from Oakville.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating along with the OPP and the Coroner.
