Owen Sound Police Investigate Road Rage

Police in Owen Sound are asking the public for help as they investigate a road rage incident.

It happened around 10am Sunday on the city's east side. A man driving northbound on Hwy 6 & 10 toward Owen Sound first encountered a hostile couple at the intersection of 16th St E and 16th Ave E. The couple began shouting at the victim and pounding on the victim's vehicle while it was stopped at a red light.

The victim was able to get away, but encountered the couple again a few moments later in the parking lot of the A&W restaurant on 16th St E across from Heritage Place Mall. There, the male suspect continued to yell at the victim and attempt to pull him out his vehicle. The suspect then smashed the victim's windshield before fleeing in his own vehicle, leaving the victim with minor cuts to his arms.

Police have not disclosed what may have provoked the incident.

The suspect vehicle is described as a grey late model Kia Forte with dark tinted windows. The licence plate number was not obtained though it was a male driver and a female passenger who both exited the vehicle at each location and participated in the incident.

The male suspect is described as in his mid-30s with a red beard and full sleeve tattoos on both arms. He has medium-long dark hair and was wearing a baseball hat. The female is also described as mid-30s, 5' 5", with a thin build, brown hair and wearing a grey Ideal Supply sweatshirt.

Anyone who may have witnessed either incident is asked to call Owen Sound Police Const. J. Hawke at (519) 376-1234, ext. 180.
