The community is getting behind plans to bring the old Teeswater Townhall up to fire standards.
South Bruce Mayor Robert Buckle says a lot of local contractors are volunteering their time in the effort to create fire separations throughout the building.
"It had started out at over $100,000, but it's getting way down. With all the volunteer help, even a lot of companies are donating the supplies that are needed, so, heavens, it could be all the way down to $20,000 or maybe even less," he says.
A fundraising BBQ is planned on September 17 at Studio 410 on the main street in Teeswater, from 4pm to 7pm.
