Steve Bannon Out As White House Strategist

The chief strategist to U.S. President Donald Trump is out, according to multiple sources.

CNN is reporting that Steve Bannon is leaving his position, per two unnamed White House officials. The New York Times is also reporting that the president will be replacing Bannon, though it is not known exactly when it will happen.

Bannon's reported departure is the latest in a series of staff shakeups in the Trump administration. Previous White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and press secretary Sean Spicer have been replaced in recent weeks.

Bannon, a U.S. Navy veteran, had previously worked as an investment banker and as a producer, director and writer of films. He had served as executive editor for Breitbart News, a far-right news and commentary website before taking a leave of absence last year to work for Trump's election campaign.
