Bruce Power Launches $100K Community Safety Fund

Bruce Power is launching a $100,000 Community Safety Fund for local organizations and Indigenous communities in Grey, Bruce, and Huron counties.

Community Safety Minister Marie-France Lalonde was at Bruce Power on Tuesday to help launch the initiative.

Lalonde was shown a new 23,000 sq ft facility for fire training and includes a mock of real plant conditions.

“During my visit to the Bruce Power site today, it was clear to me that they put a great deal of focus and effort into safe operations, worker safety, and active engagement within the local communities,” said Minister Lalonde. “The Community Safety Fund that was launched today is a welcome investment and will bring an important safety message to Bruce, Huron, and Grey counties. I commend the dedication and professionalism of Bruce Power’s people and their commitment to community safety.”

Funding applications for the Community Safety Fund will be accepted between August 1 and December 21, 2017, through our Community Investment and Sponsorship page at which can be found by clicking here.
