Wellington North Mourn Loss Of Community Stalwarts

The Village of Arthur is mourning the loss of two stalwarts of the community, Mary Schmidt and Ivan Fair.

Fair was recognized in 2010 for 50 years as a volunteer firefighter.

Up until recently he continued to help out around the fire hall which he called his second home.

Schmidt was a longtime Arthur business person owning Arthur Travel Service for 30 years.

She was also extremely active in the Arthur Chamber of Commerce and served as Chairman of the Saugeen Economic Development Corporation.
