Blyth To Host Festival Of Wizardry Event

The Transfigured Town’s Festival of Wizardry event now has a home.

North Huron council voted Monday night to approve a rental agreement for the event at the Blyth campground.

Event coordinator Nathan Swartz says it’s exciting to finally have a set destination for the event.

“We’re super ecstatic that council voted to move ahead with this and move ahead with the rental," he says. "We’re super stoked. We get to move ahead with the planning, sign contracts, all that fun stuff, and make it all solid.”

Nathan says the 9,000 ticket holders for the event can now get excited to attend the event knowing there’s a home for it, after initially being planned for Goderich.

Amanda Swartz, the other coordinator, says they can now start finalizing the planned features of the event, and lock down another key aspect as well.

“Now moving forward what we really need to do is focus on getting our volunteers in place, so if you want to volunteer, go to TransfiguredTown.com and look up the event for this year which is Festival of Wizardry 2017 and sign up there," she says.

Amanda says they really want locals to be involved with the event so the people volunteering feel a sense of connection to the festivities.

The Transfigured Town’s Festival of Wizardry event will occur in Blyth on October 14 and 15.

Transfigured Town Incorporated has revealed they are already planning two more events in 2018, including a Festival of Thrones event.
