HPHA Welcomes Annual Infrastructure Funding

The provincial government has announced around $2.5-million in funding for the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance hospitals in Clinton, Seaforth, Stratford and St. Marys.

Alliance CEO Andrew Williams says the funding is provided annually for facility improvements like windows, heating, electrical systems, elevators and roofing.

He adds the Alliance has significant needs in those areas in hospitals as old as the Alliance hospitals.

Williams says the funding is provided every year with the amount varying from year to year and this year the funding is a little higher than normal.

Williams says the government has assessed hospitals across the province to make sure that where there are specific needs, those needs are met and this year there were special circumstance funds to meet those needs.

Breaking down the funding, the Clinton Hospital got just under $297,000, St. Marys $319,000, Seaforth a little over $925,000 and Stratford just over $1-million and $76,000 for a total of around $2.5-million for the four Alliance hospitals.
