Hanover Launch Pad Creation Festival On Wednesday

Launch Pad hosts a Creation Festival on Wednesday at the youth activity and skills development centre in Hanover.

Co-op student Erich Mayerhofer is behind the festival, and says its a way for youth to exhibit their skills.

“For me to get involved with community events that have been held here is [also] incredibly generous as I feel like I’m contributing to important issues that not everyone has a chance to know about. The connections I’ve made, and the people that I’ve met have given me an immense amount of opportunities for my future. I’ve developed so many important skills and have had the time to work on the things that I enjoy through Launch Pad.” says Mayerhofer.

The Launch Pad's Board of Directors also plan to host their annual general meeting, and will recognize some of their partners.

The Canadian Welding Association Foundation and Hobart Equipment in Owen Sound have been key in providing resources and finances for the creation of their new welding skills training space.

Doors open at 4pm, and all are welcome to view the different stations around the centre run by Launch Pad employees and youth ambassadors.

There will be a coding demo, a film screening and retro arcade games made by youth. Appetizers and refreshments will be provided by youth in the culinary skills program.

The Launch Pad provides innovative ways to help youth excel in a variety of fields.

“Launch Pad is a tremendous community centric organization and they do great things for the youth in the community. It’s been a pleasure working with them and I look forward to further build upon our relationship,” says Deborah Mates, executive director of the Canadian Welding Association Foundation.
