Mapelton Drinking Water

Township of Mapleton officials are advising that the municipal water supply has not been affected by Friday's flooding and is safe to drink.

But officials are warning that if you get your drinking water from your own private well and flood waters have risen over the top or around the well casing, you may need to disinfect your drinking water after the flood waters have receded.

Questions regarding private well water contamination can be directed to the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health offices at 1-800-265-7293 ext. 4753 or visit their website at wdgpublichealth.ca.

Water sampling bottles with detailed instructions can also be picked up from the Township of Mapleton office at 7275 Sideroad 16 in Drayton.

The Township is continuing to assess road conditions and will provide updates as they become available.
