Nine Commercial Vehicles Pulled Off Road In Goderich

A day-long inspection blitz in Goderich took nine commercial vehicles off the roads.

Thirty two vehicles were inspected by the OPP and the MTO at the commercial motor vehicle safety inspection station in the Town of Goderich.

The objective for the officers was to identify, stop and check commercial motor vehicles and their operators for compliance to the various traffic laws and regulations.

The drivers of the vehicles deemed unsafe either had to repair the damages or have the vehicle towed off site.

The most common offence during last Friday's session was overweight vehicle and trailer loads.

The average overage was 3,000 kg above the registered vehicle weight. Other identified offences were failing to have an annual safety certificate, insecure loads and documentation issues.
