Police in Britain say one person is dead and ten others injured after a vehicle hit several pedestrians in what is being called an act of terror in London, England.
London Metropolitan Police say that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident. Witnesses say that the vehicle hit several people near a mosque in the Finsbury Park area of London.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight British time (7pm Eastern). Witnesses tell the BBC that the area had more pedestrian traffic than usual since people were leaving the mosque following evening prayers, having broken the Ramadan fast. The Muslim Council of Britain also confirmed to the broadcaster that a van plowed into people on purpose.
