Goderich Still Negotiating For Harry Potter Festival

The mayor of Goderich has made a statement, clarifying the town's position regarding the Harry Potter Festival that had been scheduled for October in Goderich.

Kevin Morrison says Goderich has not pulled its support for the event.  He explains at last Monday's council meeting,  council went into closed session to discuss the festival, as well as some other items.

When they emerged from closed session, there was no motion and no statement was made.

But Morrison adds while the festival was being discussed in Goderich, organizers of the event were making a presentation to North Huron council, asking to hold it at the Blyth Campgrounds.

Morrison says Goderich has still not pulled its support for the event, but points out that conditions that were part of the tentative agreement with the town have still not been met.

The mayor says his understanding is that North Huron council has approved the request in principle, but has asked for a staff report before finalizing anything.
