Crash Injures Four Teenagers

Four teenagers have been hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash in Centre Wellington Twp.

Ontario Provincial Police in Wellington County say the crash occurred around 8:15pm Saturday. A Jeep Liberty traveling southbound on the East-West Garafraxa Town Line lost control south of Belwood and crashed on the shoulder.  One of the occupants was reportedly thrown from the vehicle while another was trapped inside.

The most seriously injured was a 17-year-old female, the driver, who was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to another hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The passengers, all taken to hospital, include an 18-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. Their names are not being released and there has been no additional information on their conditions. All of them are from the Guelph and Guelph-Eramosa areas.

The road has since reopened but police continue to investigate.  The OPP says charges may be pending.

Wellington OPP ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to give them a call at 1-888-310-1122.
