Organizer Working His Magic On Event In Goderich

The organizer of the "Harry Potter and the Transfigured Town Festival" scheduled for Goderich this October says he's confident he can meet all of the conditions laid out by council.

Nathan Swartz says there was some confusion about what was required and he thought he had already met some of the conditions. But he says he can get the medical contract, the garbage contract, an agreement between his insurance company and the town's insurer, as well as an agreement with the OPP in place for the next council meeting.

He adds he will get clearance from Warner Brothers, confirming he has permission to use the Harry Potter name for the event.

Swartz says that still gives him plenty of time to prepare for the event.

He explains he's already done a great deal of planning while waiting for clearance from the town to go ahead so he says the planning been done.

"We had an amazing time last year," said Swartz. "We didn't have a single incident and that was with 1,300 people."

Swartz says he expects this year's event to attract about 9,000 this year.
