New Exhibit Opening at The TOM

After five years of planning, the Tom Thomson Art Gallery in Owen Sound is ready for it's newest exhibition.

It's called "Betwixt and Between: An Untold Tom Thomson Story."

It reveals a story of friendship, love, and loss, which is linked to the life and art of Tom Thomson, and the history of the First Nations peoples of the Bruce Peninsula.

The TOM has two of the original treaties signed by the Saugeen Ojibway Nation on display.

This multi-media exhibit tells the story through artworks, artefacts, and a virtual digital experience.

The TOM has also announced the official launch of the Tom Thomson 100th Anniversary wine -- White Canoe.  This wine was created by the Niagara College Teaching Winery in honour of the 50th anniversary of the TOM and the 100th anniversary of Thomson’s mysterious death at Canoe Lake.

The TOM is also a partner with MacLeans Brewery of Hanover.  A unique 2017 Tom Thomson Ale was created in honour of this special anniversary.  An exclusive tasting of this one-of-a-kind brew will be held at the opening.

"Betwixt & Between" celebrates its Gala Opening on Sunday, May 28 at 2pm at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery in Owen Sound.
