Police are investigating after a rifle and hunting gear were stolen from a truck west of Clinton.
The Ontario Provincial Police say on Sunday around 1:15pm, two hunters heard their vehicle alarm sounding on Maitland Line, and returned to find the rear window smashed and a number of items stolen. A light blue, larger model sports utility vehicle was seen fleeing the scene.
The following items were reported stolen from the vehicle:
- A Savage Model 10 Predator .243 Calibre bolt action rifle. The rifle was secured with a combination trigger lock and it was stored in a soft gun case.
- A camo style Browning backpack
- Two Cabela's brand Northern shotgun cases
- A Coleman shotgun case
- A Rocky brand camo sweater
- A Carlson's shotgun choke
- Duck calls
- Rabbit Decoys
- Various types of ammunition
