Chesley Tops Midwestern Ontario Schools In Fraser Rankings

The Fraser Institute is out with their annual school rankings.

They place Chesley at the top of a list of public secondary schools in midwestern Ontario.

Chesley is in 65th place out of all Ontario Secondary schools.

Saugeen in Port Elgin ranked 279 out of 740.

That's followed by Georgian Bay, West Hill, Kincardine, Owen Sound, Walkerton, John Diefenbaker, and Grey Highlands.

Peninsula Shores has the lowest ranking in Grey Bruce at 615.

The rankings for Grey Bruce Catholic secondary schools sees Sacred Heart in Walkerton at 420, and St. Mary's in Owen Sound is ranked at number 544.

In the Avon Maitland School Board, Stratford Central places 118th, followed by South Huron, Mitchell, Listowel, St. Marys, Goderich, Central Huron, F.E. Madill, and Finally Stratford Northwestern, which is ranked at 630.

The Huron Perth Catholic School Board's St. Michael in Stratford ranks 396, while St. Anne's in Clinton come in at 462.

Rankings for the Upper Grand Board have Mount Forest ranked at 420, and Palmerston comes in at 447.

The rankings use seven academic indicators from the results of annual provincewide math and literacy tests.
