Chickens Killed In Perth East Crash

A number of chickens have died in a transport truck crash in the Township of Perth East.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday around 6:20am, officers responded after the transport truck carrying chickens slid off the road into a ditch on Line 44 near Perth Rd. 119.

Police say the driver was not injured but some of the chickens died as a result of the crash.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has been notified and has attended the scene.

Perth Line 44 was closed to traffic for several hours but reopened around 3pm.
