Residents Vote For Name Of Owen Sound School

Residents are voting on a list of six possible names for the new combined Owen Sound elementary school.

The facility will open in the fall of 2017 at the former OSCVI school.

People can choose from East Escarpment, East Ridge, East Union, Eastview, Elizabeth Laird, or Tom Thomson Community School.

Elizabeth Laird was a respected professor, physicist and radar expert who was born in Owen Sound.

Each of the six choices ends with community School

The new location merges the former Bayview and Sydenham schools and will include both French and English classes.
