Freezing Rain Possible This Week

Forecasters are watching another system of winter weather as it heads toward Midwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the following areas on Monday into Tuesday:

  • Goderich - Bluewater - Southern Huron County
  • Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
  • Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County
  • Wingham - Blyth - Northern Huron County
  • Bruce Peninsula - Sauble Beach - Tobermory
  • Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County
  • Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
  • Saugeen Shores - Kincardine - Southern Bruce County
The weather agency says freezing rain is expected to develop Monday night and then spread into areas east of the region Tuesday morning.   Freezing rain will change to rain by Tuesday morning over portions of southwestern Ontario and areas near the shores of western Lake Ontario. Elsewhere, several several millimetres of freezing rain can be expected before coming to an end Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
