Ainsdale Golf Course Changing Clubs

A Kincardine native is ready to pursue her love of golf with her family and has purchased the Ainsdale Golf Course.

Taylor Candler has golfed most of her life and ended up with a NCAA scholarship at the University of Oklahoma.

She and her husband Charles currently live in Wichita, Kansas and have decided to move back to Kincardine to take possession of Ainsdale Golf Course on January 12.

Taylor says it was her husband's idea originally.

"I'm from Florida originally, and obviously Taylor being from Kincardine, is as about as far apart as you can get," says Charles. "We're right in the middle right now and going back and forth twice during holidays or missing big events because there is that distance."

So, the Candlers looked at multiple options.

"Obviously the golf course business in Florida is very saturated and there were some opportunities. But we felt like the opportunities we found in Ontario were much better," says Charles.

And while the Candler's say this is their way of life, Charles is currently an assistant GM at a golf club, Taylor says moving closer to family was a huge part of the decision.

"It is something that I thought would never be able to happen. We met down here, we had our son (Wyatt) down here, but why not, why can't we move back," says Taylor.

Ainsdale Golf Course has been owned by Al and Kathy MacKay for 30 years.
