A doctor who spent two months of his residency training in Saugeen Shores, is returning to the area full-time now that he has graduated.

Family Physician Dr. Graeme Bock will practice part-time with Dr. Michael Marriott. Dr.  Bock will also work part time in the Southampton Emergency Room. He and his wife Melissa will move to the region in January.

Bock, who was born and raised on Vancouver Island, is returning to the the region thanks to the combined recruitment efforts of Grey Bruce Health Services, the Town of Saugeen Shores, and Bruce Power.

“Dr. Bock is a wonderful addition to the growing medical team in Saugeen Shores. We know that this area has a lot to offer, and we are very pleased to welcome Dr. Bock and his wife Melissa to our community,” said Town of Saugeen Shores Mayor Mike Smith.

“The time and energy invested locally in medical residency programs has paid off. Dr. Bock spent two months of his residency training in Saugeen Shores, and now that he has graduated, he is returning to the area full time. And as of next year, we will have a new, well equipped, spacious ER to accommodate Dr. Bock, his colleagues and patients,” said Lance Thurston, GBHS president and CEO.
