$60M Investment At Teeswater Creamery

Gay Lea Foods has announced a $60-million investment to expand the Teeswater Creamery to help in the production of the company's dairy products.

Gay Lea President and CEO Michael Barrett says investing in rural communities is important to the cooperatively owned business.

"The whole concept of rural sustainability is being able to ensure there are good jobs and a sustainable rural economy," says Barrett. "That it supports not only where our members live but where they play and where they raise their kids. It's an important piece of Gay Lea's Mantra."

The expansion is expected to start in 2017 and ensures the future of 85 jobs and will add 20 more.
