UPDATE: Road Opens After Crash Near Molesworth

A Wingham man is in hospital after a single-vehicle crash near Molesworth in Huron County.

Police, paramedics and firefighters responded at around 7:48am Wednesday morning on Jamestown Rd. just east of Adams Lane.

Police say a Subaru Outback was travelling east on Jamestown Rd. when the driver lost control on the gravel road and slammed into a tree on the south side of the road. The driver was able to escape from his vehicle before it caught on fire.

The driver and lone occupant, 20-year-old Jacob Collison of Wingham, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. His injuries were previously considered life threatening but Collison is now listed in stable condition.

The collision closed Jamestown Rd. for several hours Wednesday morning between Adams Line to the west and Mt. Pleasant Line to the east.
