Women's House Bruce Grey Celebrates 30 Years At Kincardine Gala

Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey is marking 30 years of helping women and children escape violent situations.

Fundraising Coordinator Tiffany Love says they couldn't do it without continued community support to cover the $150,000. annual cost.

"To keep our services free for the women and children that need to access our services....I can't imagine a woman wanting to access the service, and then finding out ..she would have to pay or something. It's absolutely necessary that our services are free," she adds.

Love says the organization has helped over 15,000 women and 2,000 children escape abuse during the past three decades.

And the annual Gala Fundraiser is a major source of funding.

Tickets for Tomorrow's gala at the Marriott Town Suites in Kincardine are $80. including dinner, live entertainment, auctions, and a chance at 3 elimination prizes.

You can email tlove@whsbg.on.ca for tickets.

She adds, "The Live Auction is going to be bigger and better this year. With “experience” type packages up for bid, there will be something for everyone. Are you a person who loves arts, festivals and museums? Maybe you’re a “pampering” type? Maybe “Date Night for a Year” sounds awesome to you? There is something for everyone this year.

Love says participants could also get a chance to be part of the audience for two great TV shows-- CityLine and The Goods.

There will be a fun trivia game to play, and a chance to try the golf simulator to try for closest to the pin.
