The OPP in Grey and Bruce counties are investigating several incidents of counterfeit American currency being used in the region.
On July 26, two unknown men purchased small items from the Springmount Esso on Hwy. 6 in Georgian bluffs using phony U.S. $20 and $50 bills.
Both men are described as non-white, with short black beards. One man was wearing a white t-shirt with a native american headdress on it, and white fedora.
The men left in a new black jeep heading north toward Wiarton.
Bruce Peninsula OPP received similar reports of counterfeit U.S. $20 and $50 bills being used at several businesses in Hepworth and Sauble Beach.
Police located an unoccupied suspect 2016 Jeep Wrangler in Sauble Beach, but it was a rental from Toronto
The bills bear serial numbers MB00494845C and MB00494846C.
