Kitchener's Gligic Wins 2016 Seaforth Country Golf Classic

Michael Gligic from Kitchener was the winner of the 2016 Seaforth Country Classic.

Gligic and Dan Bowling from Bright's Grove finished tied at nine under and Gligic won on the first extra hole when Bowling's approach shot to the 18th ended up on the ridge above the green.

Gligic says he came into the Classic with some momentum after having some success on the PGA Canada Tour's McKenzie Tour.

Gligic says the Seaforth course was fast yesterday and the wind presented some challenges but he says he hit the ball well enough to give him some opportunities and his putter didn't let him down.

"I putted out really good (today), I hit it pretty good and gave myself lots of looks and was able to make a few of those putts," he says.

Gligic adds he knows Dan Bowling very well as it was a tough one for him to lose and he was lucky to sneak one out.

"Dan's a really good player, I know Dan real well, so I knew it was gonna be a tough one," says Gligic. "He got a bit unlucky there in the last one, and his ball went a little too far and I was able to get the win."
