Commercial Vehicle Inspections In South Bruce Peninsula

A commercial motor vehicle safety blitz in in South Bruce Peninsula removed two vehicles from the road until repairs are completed.

25 commercial motor vehicles were pulled over along Hwy. 6 Thursday and inspected.

Ministry of Transportation charges included one count for load security, two for overweight and one for a pre-trip inspection.

All 25 vehicles passed a coloured fuel violation in inspection. The Ministry of Finance warned two drivers for contraband tobacco.

“Road safety continues to be a priority for the Bruce Peninsula OPP. Working with our partners at Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Finance, provides an excellent opportunity to enhance commercial motor vehicle safety compliance on our roads,” says Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Wayne Thompson.

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Blitz required the Bruce Peninsula OPP along with the Grey County OPP, Mount Forest OPP Highway Safety Division, Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Finance, to work on the busy shoulders of Hwy. 6.
