Hanover Looks For Responses To User Fees Survey

The Town of Hanover is reviewing non resident use of Parks, Recreation and Culture Services.

A user fee review survey has been launched to find out public views on the current policy.

Hanover wants to to explore how the non resident user policy impacts the community and if it is still relevant.

It also hopes to look at revising the policy to meet the needs of facility users, the community and the town.

Staff have conducted a number of focus group sessions on the topic.

The ten question survey will be available until June 20th, 2016.

Hard copies are available at the municipal office and the P & H Centre.

The fee was put in place in February 2008 after failed attempts to develop a cost sharing agreement with neighbouring municipalities.

Council did not want residents to subsidize non residents.

The fee is a surcharge of 25% of the service registration fee to a maximum of about $37., and a 25% surcharge for facility rental.
