South Bruce Moves Forward With Teeswater Flood Zone Mapping

Gay Lea will pay for half of the cost of a flood zone mapping project in Teeswater.

Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority will act as the project manager, with the plan expected to cost about $40,000.

The hope is that updated mapping will lead to land near Gay Lea upgraded to Zone 2, which would allow the company to expand.

South Bruce Mayor Robert Buckle says Gay Lea is a crucial part of the local economy.

Council has voted to put out a Request for Proposals (RFP) for price estimates to various engineers to do the mapping and report of the Teeswater Flood Zones.

Gay Lea has offered to pay for half of the cost of the mapping up to $20,000.
