Saugeen Shores Police Warn Of Active Fraudsters

Saugeen Shores police are urging people to keep an eye on their credit and banking statements.

This comes after police received a complaint from a resident who noticed fraudulent activity on a credit card.

Police and the bank have launched an investigation. But police remind citizens that identity theft is an all too common occurrence.

If you check your statements regularly you can stop the theft sooner, and resolve the problem.

Don't throw out old bank and credit card statements, but shred them instead. You should also remember to keep pin numbers secret.

Police are also warning that scammers pretending to be from Canada Revenue Agency continue to be active in the community.
