Hensall Heritage Hall Lease On Bluewater Agenda

Bluewater's municipal staff is working out a lease for the Hensall Heritage Hall.

Mayor Tyler Hessel says it would differ from the lease for the Bayfield Historic Town Hall because the room below the Heritage Hall is the municipal library and is owned by the municipality so they'll have to work out some agreements on utilities and things like entrances and exits.

Council was also told last week the Heritage Hall committee has a current deficit of about $88,000.

Hessel says they've applied for a grant from the Legacy Fund that would reduce the deficit by about $26,000.

Hessel adds they're hoping the committee can fund raise and find other grants to offset that but points out they're willing to set a realistic time line for that to be done so the Hall can get up and running and start staging events for the community.

Hessel adds they're just waiting for some final inspections that would allow them to get into the hall by the end of this month and start doing some of the cosmetic work in the interior.

The goal is to start marketing and promoting as soon as possible and to be hosting events this summer.
